An introductory lecture for the students of the 1st year of medical studies in academic year 2024/2025
Introductory lecture by the dean of the School of Medicine, proffesor Slavko Oreškovića for students of the first year of medical studies enrolled in academic in the year 2024/2025 was held on Monday, September 16, 2024 in the "Miroslav Čačković" hall.
The dean greeted the 107th generation of students of the School of Medicine in Zagreb with suitable words and introduced them to the significance of this institution for Croatia and our nation throughout history.
He pointed out what the study of medicine consists of and what awaits them, and pointed out that it is up to each individual to decide how much they will try, work, commit and invest in studying, acquiring the necessary knowledge and skills; and that the School and all its employees will always be at the service of students in every way.
The dean introduced the vice-deans of the Faculty and the heads of the departments of the first year of study, who welcomed the students with short welcoming speeches.
The School's website, official social networks and the Center for career planning in biomedicine and healthcare were presented by Ino Kermc, Ph.D, while associate professor Mirza Žižak introduced the students to the functioning of the MEF-LMS system, which will be useful to them in class.
The libraries of the School of Medicine and all the possibilities they offer, which students will surely use often, were presented by the head of the Central Medical Library, Lea Škorić, Ph.D.
Nataša Dobrenić spoke about the services of the University Computing Center (SRCE), and Dino Žujić, representative of the Student Union of the School of Medicine, presented the work, activities and possibilities of the Student Union, student associations and sections of the School.
Matija Martinić, head of the student mentoring system, introduced the students to their mentors who will be at their service throughout their years of study.
