Dear Active Participants,
Please read the instructions carefully before submitting your abstract.
Submissions open on January 14, 2025, at 6:00 PM and close on February 17, 2025, at 11:59 PM.
NOTE: All abstracts must be written in English and suitable for publication (spelling and grammar must be correct, and the text should be free of errors). Abstracts must be original and should not have been previously published or presented at any congress prior to CROSS 20. Abstracts that represent a modified version of an already published or presented work will not be considered. Abstracts submitted after the deadline, or modified versions of already submitted abstracts, will also not be considered. If an abstract lacks the required structure (as explained at the end of the text) or contains numerous linguistic errors, it will not be considered.
Our Scientific-Program Committee will review and evaluate abstracts after the submission deadline. The review process is entirely anonymous and follows a double-blind principle — reviewers will not know whose abstracts they are evaluating, and authors will not know who reviewed their abstracts. Each abstract is independently evaluated by multiple reviewers, and at the end of the process, a scoring list is compiled to determine which abstracts are accepted.
Please note that even if an abstract is accepted by the Scientific-Program Committee, it will not be included in the congress program, the book of abstracts, or e-poster presentations unless the authors (or co-authors) obtain their respective ticket via Entrio platform and registrate on the registration table during the congress, and at least one author/co-author is not available to present the work in person. Additionally, the author or co-author must attend at least two lectures.
The theme of this year’s CROSS is "The Journey of Life." This theme aims to explore the full spectrum of medical challenges, from pediatrics to geriatrics, with an innovative approach tailored to each patient group. Our goal is to highlight the future issues that young physicians like us will face, offering insights into the evolving nature of medical practice.
Pay close attention to structure and content, clear presentation of relevant data, linguistic correctness, and coherence.
Each individual is allowed to submit a maximum of one abstract as the first author. Additionally, participants may be co-authors on a maximum of one abstract (this does not apply to mentors). Each abstract may have one first author and up to two co-authors (mentors not included).
In summary, a participant may have either 1 authorship and 1 co-authorship OR 2 co-authorships (without authorship).
Abstract title is limited to 20 words, and the body text to 250 words (excluding headings). The abstract must include 4 to 6 keywords, separated by semicolons, listed alphabetically, and formatted according to "Medical Subject Headings - MeSH“ (NOTE: capitalization and exact phrasing).
Each abstract must be categorized into one of the following:
- case report
- preclinical research
- clinical research
- literature review.
Abstracts should follow the structure outlined below:
- INTRODUCTION/OBJECTIVE: Briefly present the significance of the topic and the research objectives.
- MATERIALS AND METHODS: Describe the methodology used, clearly explaining how data was collected and analyzed.
- RESULTS: Provide a clear presentation of the main research findings.
- CONCLUSION: Present the answer to the hypothesis based on the results provided.
Abstracts categorized as case reports should follow this structure:
- INTRODUCTION: Provide basic information about the disease or syndrome being described.
- CASE REPORT: Present the complete patient workup, therapy choice, outcome, and follow-up.
- CONCLUSION: Highlight the reason for presenting the case and its importance or applicability.
