ROUTE-HWF Zagreb Workshop
The "ROUTE-HWF Zagreb Workshop," part of the project "A Roadmap OUT of mEdical deserts into supportive Health WorkForce initiatives and policies," was held on November 30 and December 1, 2023. Attended by 96 participants, the workshop focused on addressing the challenges of medical deserts—areas with limited healthcare access. Key discussions revolved around the impact of medical deserts in Europe, strategies for attracting healthcare professionals to underserved areas, and the importance of policy interventions. The workshop showcased innovative solutions like telemedicine, mobile healthcare services, and educational reforms. It emphasized the need for collaborative efforts among governments, institutions, and communities to improve healthcare accessibility, highlighting the critical role of comprehensive policies and research in effectively tackling these challenges.
