Erasmus+ Short PhD Mobility from 15 June 2026 to 30 June 2027
Deadline: preferably no later than 2 months before the mobility, it is recommended to apply as soon as possible

The University of Zagreb has opened the call for applications for the Erasmus+ Short PhD Mobility (to EU Member States or third countries associated to the Erasmus+ Programme) from 15 June 2026 to 30 June 2027. The mobility can last from 5 to 30 days of physical mobility, virtual component of the mobility is not required, but it is recommended.
The call is open until 30 September 2026 (the call could be closed earlier, depending on the availability of funds).
An additional call is planned for October for mobilities from November 2026 to 30 June 2027.
The call is open for PhD students for the following mobility types:
- Short studies mobility (SMS) – only towards the universities with which the School of Medicine has signed the Erasmus+ agreement (the list can be found here)
- Short clinical or research traineeship mobility (SMT) – towards any institution (universities, institutes, hospitals, etc.) within the EU and third countries associated to the Erasmus+ Programme (Erasmus+ agreement is not needed)
The Erasmus+ stipend consists of daily allowance and travel costs (according to the table in Dodatak III of the Call). The students who belong to one of the categories of students with fewer opportunities (categories are listed in Dodatak II of the Call) can get additional 100 or 150 euro depending on the length of the mobility.
Application documents:
a. Statement of the School – once you complete the required sections, and you and your mentor sign it, please send it to jasna.turkovic@mef.hr who will give it to the ECTS coordinator for signing, it takes approx. a week to get the signature,
b. Proof of enrolment in the PhD studies (in Croatian),
c. Acceptance Letter – the document has to be signed and stamped by the host institution,
d. Language certificate of the language specified in the Acceptance Letter (Dodatak I on the website; the School of Medicine cannot issue this certificate),
e. Proof of status of student with fewer opportunities (Dodatak II on the website).
Application documents have to be uploaded directly to the online application, but to ensure the success of your application, please e-mail all the documents to the International Relations Office (jasna.turkovic@mef.hr) at least one week before you plan on applying so that we can check that everything is correct.
