The role of the Dean:
- Manages and represents the School,
- Organizes and coordinates the work activities,
- Makes business decisions in accordance with regulations,
- Heads the Faculty Council and proposes the agenda of the meetings of the Faculty Council,
- Is a member of the University of Zagreb Council for the Field of Biomedicine and Health,
- Proposes to the Faculty Council measures to improve the School’s operation,
- Implements the decisions of the Faculty Council and decisions of the University Senate and Council for the field relating to the School,
- Makes decisions regarding the exercise of rights and obligations in the employment relationships or related to the employment relationships, second-degree decisions in the employment relationship, and second-instance decisions in administrative procedures in which the rights and obligations of citizens are decided on the basis of public authority,
- Gives written warnings to employees about obligations in the employment relationship and indicates the possibility of termination in case of continued breach of those obligations,
- Makes decisions about the termination of an employment contract,
- Issues orders to individual employees or groups of employees for the performance of certain tasks,
- Makes decisions concerning graduate and postgraduate education outside the competence of the Faculty Council,
- Resolves appeals of candidates made against entrance exam results,
- Resolves appeals of students made against first-instance decisions
- Performs other tasks in accordance with the law, the University Statute and the School of Medicine Statute.
