Centre for Improvement of Teaching Competencies

The Centre for Improvement of Teaching Competencies is an organizational unit of the School of Medicine established for the purpose of improving teacher competencies and career development of teachers and associates of the School.

The Centre is established as a centre of educational excellence, which will provide significant educational support to all interested teachers and associates.

The activities of the Centre are:

  • Improving teacher competencies and career development of teachers and associates,
  • Arranging and conducting of training courses, workshops, seminars, and conferences,
  • Providing consulting services in the field of teaching methods,
  • Promoting innovation in teaching and application of technologies in the educational process,
  • Cooperation with national and international institutions and organisations in the field of education,
  • Development of mentoring programmes in collaboration with other universities,
  • Promotion of research activities and publication of works in the field of educational sciences,
  • Developing partnerships with health care institutions, industry, and business sector for the purpose of conducting joint research and ensuring the training of the School’s teachers and associates,
  • Organisation of guest lectures and workshops with eminent experts from abroad, from other scientific and educational institutions

The bodies of the Centre's management are: the Head of the Centre and Centre Council. In the management of the Centre, and in particular in defining the Centre's development strategy, the Head shall be assisted by the Centre Council. The Head of the Centre may appoint permanent and temporary committees to carry out tasks within the Centre’s sphere of activity.

Lessons are done in English and Croatia, some lectures will be live on-line while some will be on site.

The workshops are free of charge, the condition for obtaining a certificate is participation/presence on both days of a workshop. It does not have an exam, but it has an evaluation/survey in a Google form.
