8th Mediterranean Neuroscience Society (MNS) Conference , Dubrovnik, May 29th to June 2nd 2022

As the president of the MNS2022 Local Organizing Committee, it is my great pleasure to invite you to participate in the 8th Mediterranean Neuroscience Society (MNS) Conference that will be held in the beautiful city of Dubrovnik, Croatia, from May 29th to to June 2nd 2022.

Neuroscience has recently witnessed a convergence of interests from many allied disciplines, including medicine, psychology, physics, computer science, statistics, as well as humanities and social sciences. Brain research has expanded its scope by including large-scale experimental and theoretical investigations of the central and peripheral nervous systems of biological organisms from cellular, behavioral, and societal perspectives, making it one of the most rapidly growing fields of science.

Therefore, this biennial conference will continue the tradition of continuous efforts by the MNS to bring together the neuroscience communities, biomedical and health care professionals, but also investigators and experts from other disciplines and from all over the world in a major event to discuss and to discourse on progress in brain research and related fields. It will be a unique opportunity to continue our friendships and scientific collaborations from the previous conferences in Marrakech, Morocco (2019), St Julian, Malta (2017) and Pula, Italy (2015), and to develop new opportunities for shared growth. We are confident that it will contribute to advance the future profile of neuroscience, technology and engineering, regionally and globally.

The Conference particularly encourages and supports the interaction of research students, scientific and academic institutions from the South of the Mediterranean with the international community. MNS2022 will also play an essential role in introducing and fostering new research talents, allowing them to share their research experiences in a vibrant but friendly environment.

The President of MNS, Giuseppe Di Giovanni, myself and the other members of the Scientific and Local Committees will strive to make this meeting a very successful event, both scientifically and socially.

On behalf of the Local Organizing Committee of the 8th MNS Conference, I hope to welcome you in Dubrovnik to enjoy a stimulating atmosphere, and the early Croatian summer on the Adriatic coast.

With best regards,

Professor Goran Šimić, MD, PhD
President of the Local Organizing Committee of the 8th MNS Conference
